About Me

My name is Dave, and I make sounds.

For over 30 years, I have been learning, playing, or writing — whether it be classical piano literature, drum set or marching percussion, or electronic music and sound design. I am not living unless I am creating.

I currently make my living wages as a freelance sound designer, both in the pageantry arts and now in the game industry (don’t forget to sprinkle in a few percussion arranging gigs). On the side, I like to play shooter games, drumset, do a bit of miscellaneous visual design (this site included), and cuddle my two beagles!

If you’re a fan of Drum Corps, you may have seen my work. I am in my 4th year as the Sound Designer for Santa Clara Vanguard. I also make music under the pseudonym Noizeproxy.

  • If you're looking for eyes and ears for your show - pre-season, early, or mid-season - I can provide an objective critique of what I see. This can break through the tunnel vision we all get in the design/production process and give you a different perspective.

    This is typically done via an exchange of videos - you send a video of a performance, and I send you back a commentary, giving a sort of play-by-play of my observations.

    I'd be happy to discuss other arrangements depending on your needs!
